# LaMancha Dairy Goats in Mendocino County

Welcome to the Goat-San Dairy Goats website. We are a small herd local to Mendocino County, California. We primarily raise LaManchas, but we also have a few LaMancha type Grades. We generally keep between 12-15 milkers, and about 9 kids every year. Because we keep our herd very small, we often have high quality milkers and youngstock for sale. Please enjoy browsing through our website, and don’t hesitate to contact us with any questions.

In 2016, we were honored to bring home the herd of Shining Moon Alpines owned by Grant and Micki Colfax. While they maintain ownership and costs, the Alpines are integrated in the Goat-San herd and managed alongside the LaManchas. This puts the total herd numbers around 20-25 milkers and 20 kids each year. If you are interested in the Shining Moon herd their animals can be found here on the [Alpine](https://goatsan.com/herd/alpine) page.

## A small herd

Twelve to fifteen Goat-San milkers, plus the Shining Moon Alpines who live here with them. Because the herd stays small, milkers and youngstock are often for sale.

## About Trinity

Goat-San started in 2006, named for respect the way Trinity's father was called Walter-San in Japan. The long version — Wingwood Farm, 4-H, Redwood Hill, and why LaManchas — is on its own page.
